Tikkun Olam Makers Makeathon @ Smart Fab Lab

Tikkun Olam Makers (TOM) is a global movement of communities connecting makers, designers, developers and engineers with people with disabilities ('Need-Knowers') to develop technological solutions for everyday challenges to help such individuals and change their lives. TOM operates a global network of 67 communities in 24 countries with over 4500 volunteers creating 450+ life-changing open source solutions. Our volunteers include makers (engineers, designers, programmers), medical and business professionals, marketers and more.

All designs and prototypes created during TOM makeathons are free and available for any user around the world to adapt for their needs.

TOM 1 was organised by the TOM Bulgaria team, Smart Fab Lab (SFL) and many other partners. DSLL has been one of the main organisers of this first TOM makeathon in Bulgaria, hosted by SFL in April 2017. Tikkun Olam means (roughly) 'try to improve or repair the world'. You can't fix the world in 72 hours but you can sometimes hack it and make it better and change someone's life forever :)
