EIT Water Hackathon Sofia 2026

Climate change is transforming Europe’s water landscape. More frequent floods, prolonged droughts and increasing pressure on water resources demand new ideas, new technologies and new forms of collaboration.

The EIT Water Hackathon 2026 brings together students, researchers, engineers, software developers, entrepreneurs and water professionals from across Europe to create innovative digital solutions that help predict, prevent and manage water-driven disasters.

Organized as part of the EIT Water initiative, the hackathon contributes to Europe’s ambition to build a smarter, more resilient and sustainable water future through innovation, entrepreneurship and education.

Participants will be advises by a team of dedicated mentors from leading companies and universities in hydro-engineering, data science, Earth Observation and AI, access to powerful software platforms and resources, open satellite and other data, an expert jury, valuable prizes, good food and company, and direct connections to the European water ecosystem.

This is a unique opportunity to join a vibrant international community, shape and test your ideas, develop real solutions and have them validated by expert feedback, and launched with clients and partners.

Mozaika and Digital Spaces Living Lab will organised the Sofia edition of the event, hosted at JA Startup Hambar, in partnership with JA Bulgaria and other organisations.
